Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Autopoiesis collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies to autopoiesis.app, app.autopoiesis.app and the Autopoiesis apps (together, "Autopoiesis"). Autopoiesis is built by a small team in San Francisco ("we", "us").
In short: we use your information to provide Autopoiesis and keep it safe. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
1. Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name and email address, or the basic profile you share when you sign in with Google.
- Your content, such as messages, requests, files and the work your AI team creates for you.
- Information from services you connect, limited to what you authorize and what is needed to do the work you ask for.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not receive your full card number.
- Usage and device information, such as how you use Autopoiesis, your device and browser type, and your IP address. Our websites use cookies for basic analytics.
2. How we use it
- To provide, maintain and improve Autopoiesis.
- To process payments and manage credits.
- To protect accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
- To communicate with you about your account and the service.
- To comply with the law.
3. AI processing
Autopoiesis uses AI models from trusted providers to do the work you ask for. We share with them only what each task needs, under agreements that limit their use of it. We do not use your content to train AI models. AI output can be wrong, so review anything important.
4. Personal workspaces
The content of your personal workspace is private to you. Our team does not view it unless you give permission, or when we must for security or legal reasons.
5. Google user data
Autopoiesis lets you connect a Google account so your AI team can work with your Google Sheets and Google Slides. This section explains how Autopoiesis accesses, uses, stores, shares and deletes data from Google.
What we access
- Your Google account's email address, so you can see which account is connected.
- Only the Google Drive files you choose in the Google file picker, and the files Autopoiesis creates for you
(permission:
drive.file). For those files we access their names, contents and basic details such as type and last change. We cannot see any other files in your Google Drive.
How we use it
- To show the files you chose on your Slides and Tables pages in Autopoiesis.
- To read and edit those files, or create new ones, when you or your AI team work on them at your request.
- Sharing a file or moving it to the bin always waits for your approval.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train AI models.
How we store and protect it
Your Google access is stored encrypted on our servers. The file contents we need for a request are processed only to complete that request. People at Autopoiesis do not read your Google user data unless you ask us to, or when it is needed for security or required by law.
Who we share it with
We share Google user data only with the service providers that help us complete the work you ask for, such as the AI model provider handling a request, under agreements that limit their use of it, and only as needed to provide the feature. We do not share it with anyone else.
Retention and deletion
We keep your Google connection until you disconnect it. You can disconnect at any time on the Connectors page in Autopoiesis, or by removing Autopoiesis in your Google Account's security settings. When you disconnect, we revoke our access to your Google account; your files stay in your Google Drive. When you delete your Autopoiesis account, we delete your Google connection with it. To ask us to delete any other Google user data, contact support@autopoiesis.app.
Limited Use
Autopoiesis's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Sharing
We share information only:
- with service providers that help us run Autopoiesis, such as hosting, AI, payment, email and analytics providers, who may use it only to provide their services to us;
- with services you connect or ask us to act on;
- with people you invite to a workspace;
- when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of people;
- as part of a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and prevent abuse. You can delete your account in the app's settings. To delete other data, contact us.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you think your account is at risk.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. Your information may be processed in the United States.
10. Children
Autopoiesis is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and tell you about significant changes.
